Dropbox is where the documents live: signed contracts, board decks, financial models, vendor reports. It's built to store files well, not to answer questions about what's in them. Search finds a filename. Someone still has to open the PDF, find the number, and copy it out, once per file.
Today we're announcing the Dropbox connector. Ana reads the content of your files, not just their names, and answers questions against them directly.
How It Works
Connect a Dropbox account or team from the Connectors page and authenticate with OAuth. Ana indexes what that account can already see: team folders, shared folders, and Dropbox Paper docs. No manual mapping, no folder-by-folder setup.
What Ana Handles For You
Reading the file, not just the filename. Ana extracts text and tables from PDFs, Word docs, spreadsheets, and Paper docs, so a question like "what's the termination clause in the Acme contract" gets answered from the actual document, not a filename match.
Respecting Dropbox's permission model. Ana only surfaces what the connected account could already see in Dropbox. Permissions are enforced at query time, not copied into a separate access list that drifts out of sync.
Joining files with everything else. A contract in Dropbox and a deal in your CRM are the same deal. Ana can pull terms from the file and revenue data from the warehouse in one answer, instead of leaving you to reconcile them by hand.
Getting Started
Navigate to the Connectors page in TextQL, select Dropbox, and authenticate with your Dropbox account. Ana indexes your accessible files automatically and you can start asking questions right away. For full setup details, see the Dropbox connector docs.
